Give Claude Code a budget-aware web search in 60 seconds

Your agent needs to search the web, and there are hundreds of paid search APIs at very different prices. Let it pick one that fits a budget, from live prices and uptime.

1. Add Hagglyai to Claude

In the Claude app (chat box)

  1. In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors.
  2. Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Hagglyai and enter the server URL https://hagglyai.com/mcp, then click Continue twice.
  4. Under Authentication choose No sign in (Hagglyai needs no account or key), then click Add.
  5. In a chat, click + in the lower left, choose Connectors and turn Hagglyai on.
  6. Type your question in the chat box. If Claude asks before using a Hagglyai tool, allow it.

Pro and Max add connectors themselves; Free plans can have one custom connector; on Team and Enterprise an owner adds it and members click Connect. Once added it also works in the desktop and mobile apps.

Apify rows: pay with an Apify prepaid token bought over x402 (agi.apify.com, $1 minimum), then POST the actor input to the endpoint. Uptime is Apify's reported 30-day run success and payers are its monthly users; Hagglyai does not probe them.

4. How to read it

  • The Recommended line is the endpoint to call: its price per query, its method and URL, and its score out of 100.
  • The table below it ranks the alternatives on price, uptime and real paying usage, so your agent can fall back if the first one fails.
  • Change max_price_usd to move the budget; the recommendation never goes over it.
